This Spitzkoppe day trip from Windhoek is a full day road tour to one of Namibia’s well known rock areas. You travel by road from Windhoek to the Spitzkoppe area. The journey takes about two and a half to three hours.

Detailed Itinerary
You leave Windhoek early in the morning and drive north toward Spitzkoppe. After arrival, your guide introduces the area and explains the plan for the day. You begin with easy walks near the main granite peaks. Your guide shows you good viewing points and explains how the rocks were formed.
You visit the Bushman rock art site. This walk is short and mostly flat. You see ancient paintings on the rock surfaces. Your guide explains what the paintings show and why they are important to local history.
You stop near the rocks for a packed picnic lunch. This is a quiet break with time to sit, relax, and enjoy the open land. You can take photos or walk a short distance around the picnic area.
After lunch, you walk to the natural granite arch. You have time to take photos and enjoy the wide views. You may also explore smaller rock groups nearby. Your guide may point out local plants and small animals found in the area.
Later in the afternoon, you begin the drive back to Windhoek and arrive in the early evening.
