The Tour Experience
Your day starts at around 8:30 in the morning with pickup from your accommodation in Walvis Bay or Swakopmund. After a short briefing, you leave in a 4×4 vehicle and drive north along the coast.
Your first stop is Wlotzkasbaken, followed by a visit to the Zeila Shipwreck. This shipwreck rests on the shore and is a reminder of Namibia’s maritime history. From here, the journey continues inland on dirt roads toward the mountains.
You arrive at Spitzkoppe at around 10:00. Your first stop is the Bushmen rock art site, where you learn about the meaning and age of the paintings. Your guide also explains the geology of the Spitzkoppe area.
You then have time to relax, walk around the rocks, and take photos. During this time, lunch is prepared. Lunch includes finger snacks, cold drinks, wine, beer, and local sweets.
After lunch, you visit a local gemstone market where semi precious stones mined in the area are sold. Buying here supports local people, as this is their main source of income.
The tour ends with a drive back to your accommodation.
